Dead fish mystery solved — On April 24, 10-year-old Taylor Walsh from Massachusetts is investigating a fish kill at Mackle Park. According to Nancy Richie, the environmental technician for the city of Marco Island, a lack of rain has lowered the dissolved oxygen levels in the lake. 'Until we get some good wind action and some rain, the fish are gonna die,' she said. According to Parks and Recreation Director Dana Souza, a lake management company has visited the lake to conduct some testing. This has happened before at Mackle and Lee Plumber Parks, he said, although no fish have died at the second park recently. 'Right now, we're OK over there,' he said. 'We're just going to monitor the two sites.'
