Three great friends were Henry Ford, left, Thomas A. Edison and Harvey Firestone, right. This picture was taken in the late 1920s in the area. Yes, they were dressed for more formal affairs, but often the three would don old clothes and go orchid hunting into the wilds of Southwest Florida in Edison's vehicle -- a Ford, naturally. The three also were business partners when Edison developed latex rubber.
