Juana Miguel Jose, right, supports her mother, Teresa Jose Francisco, 83, who is blind, along with her son, who has polio, and a blind sister on roughly $20 per month in rural Guatemala. The family is some of the many indigenous people helped by Adopt-a-Village Guatemala, an aid organization based for many years in Bonita Springs, focused on helping Mayan people in poverty.
