Bicycles whiz by as cyclists with the Naples Velo cycling group cut through the fog on Pelican Bay Boulevard in Naples recently. Ten riders reached speeds of about 30 mph during the group's fast lap. There are many elements of this photo that I love — the light, the early morning mist and the idea of motion. Most importantly I love to cycle. My friends say the photograph reminds them of those inspirational posters that put forth the philosophy of teamwork. Almost all of us remember our bikes as children, and the joy and freedom it gave us. It is a shame that some of us have forgotten that joy. As H.G. Wells put it: "When I see an adult on a bicycle, I do not despair for the future of the human race."
