Lanny Sheffield builds a 19-foot fishing boat for himself with his grandfather Robert Sunday in Bonita Springs. Robert moved to Bonita Springs in 1934 and has been building boats since he was eight years old and estimates that he has built about 5000 in his lifetime, but admits he has grown weary of the task. 'It's a nerve-racking job,' he said 'you have to think so far ahead.' Lanny agrees that it takes a lot of time, 'you want to get it just right,' he says, but adds that the effort is worth it once you get the boat in the water. Doing the work on weekends, they hope to finish the boat in a few more months.
