Immigrant workers from around Southwest Florida gather in downtown Fort Myers at the Old Courthouse on Main Street to protest the passage of H.R. 4437, the Border Protection, Antiterrorism, and Illegal Immigration Control Act in the U.S. House of Representatives. The demonstration was organized by Immigrantes Latinos Unidos de la Florida, of Arcadia. The leaders of the demonstration walked two blocks down Main Street and visited the offices of U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla., and U.S. Rep. Connie Mack IV, R-Fort Myers, to voice their opposition.
