Richard Zolan was commissioned by the Palm Desert, Calif., cultural center to do a portrait of Bob Hope and wife Doris, for their generous gift of $1 million. When asked what was the most difficult aspect to paint, Zolan surprised everyone by saying Doris's scarf (everyone thought it would be Bob's nose).
