The Marco Island Historical Society showed Distant Drums starring Gary Cooper on July 5 at Mackle Park. Parts of the film were filmed in Collier County and around the Keewaydin area. The group used an LCD projector to show it on a bigger screen to give the idea of a movie theater atmosphere. 'During the summer we do things that are of a little different mode. We are constantly doing things to allure the community to be hooked on Marco,' said President Cindy Anderson.
