Raising cattle is big business in Florida, and Fritzie Seger of Naples shares these photos from the industry's early days. They show her late father- in-law, Frank Seger, as editor of the Highlands County News interviewing adventure novelist and playwright Rex Beach, with cane, and Beach's ranch hand. The interview included a tour via Jeep. The scenes unfolded in 1947 or 1948 at Beach's 1,700-acre Sebring area ranch, where he used to experiment with grazing cattle.
