Team Depot volunteers Jean Nascak, left, and Kyle Spurr brush a new coat of paint onto the adoption and intake shelter of the Humane Society of Lee County on Thursday. Humane Society Director of Development Heather Francis had sent out a press release asking for donations of paint to give the 60-year-old building “a complete face-lift.” Team Depot answered the call with not only the paint to do the job, but also the volunteer labor as well. Team Depot, comprising volunteers from the Fort Myers East Home Depot located off Colonial Boulevard at Interstate 75, chose to help with the effort because the nonprofit society fit the requirements for their community service program. Once they’re finished with the painting, they will leave the humane society with the supplies. “We work in our neighborhood and that’s what it’s all about,” said Nascak, who began painting with the team at 8 a.m. after finishing her overnight shift at 6 a.m.
