Can reach about 13 inches in length. Very wary of anyone approaching, although it is less cautious if mostly submerged. The stomach is generally unmarked and can have a yellowish-orange coloration. They can be seen in lakes, canals and many of Florida's springs; they're also abundant in the Everglades.
