Florida mud turtle
This is a small turtle between 3-4 inches. They have short tails and a smooth shell of various brown shades. They are bottom crawlers, rarely leaving the water except when it rains or during nesting season. They can be found in drainage ditches, marshes, ponds and other small bodies of water.
