Paws, Claws and Tails owners Jerry Henderson and Carol Gold speak to the crowd after being recognized as the Small Business of the Year by the Bonita Springs Area Chamber of Commerce. The owners have continually made improvements since purchasing the already-established store several years ago, including increasing sales by 35 percent, and increasing daily customer traffic from 25 visitors daily, to almost 100. The store makes community service a priority. It has donated more than 1,000 pounds of food to pets displaced by hurricanes, and continues to support numerous area pet rescue projects.
