FEET & BILLS. A flock of Giant White Pelicans (9' plus wing span) waiting for take off until the runway in front is cleared. White Pelicans winter in the 10,000 Islands and are very interesting to watch as they FISH entirely different than their cousins the Brown Pelicans. As we know the Brown Pelicans dive from air into the water to capture thier food. The White Pelicans as a large group, while paddling on the surface, HERD fish into shallow waters and then capture them in their large bills.
