George Mochnal circulated the lagoon area searching for garbage and debris. Keep Collier Beautiful, the area’s local chapter of Keep America Beautiful, began their efforts about 17 years ago out of concern for the health of Naples Bay. Since then, the event has expanded to cover many sites across Collier County, including some in Immokalee and Golden Gate that are not situated on the beach.
