The Long Island Roller Rebels are one of the many flat-track women's roller derby leagues to spring up in recent years. Since the revival of roller derby in the last five years or so, more mothers are joining leagues. The sport used to be for edgy, indie singles, but now rink nannies take care of kids, and some moms are forming all-mom teams, who want the sport to be non-contact.
