The southbound portion of North Collier just below the Smokehouse Bay bridge got a final overlay and new traffic lines this week. Tim Pinter, senior project manager for Marco Island’s Public Works Department, said the northbound side will get the same finishing touches over the next week, allowing crews to open up all four lanes of traffic from Holly Court to San Marco Road by next Wednesday. He said some landscaping work will keep crews on the roadside for a few days after the road opens up.
