Ingrid Ludscheidt, left, congratulates her friend Walter Hart, 88, after he received the Boy Scout Eagle Award from the Southwest Florida Council of the Boy Scouts of America at the Boy Scout service center in Fort Myers on Saturday. Hart joined the Cub Scouts in 1928 and earned 23 merit badges as a Boy Scout. He completed all the requirements for Eagle Scout but left to serve in WWII before he received the award. Last year, Hart found the old document that verified he met the requirements for the award and reapplied. After verifying his completion with the national office, the Southwest Florida Council decided to hold the ceremony and honor Hart with the award.
