Marco Island resident David Dumas challenged the Marco Island Waterways and Boating Safety Ordinance by anchoring his motor yacht Kinship, shown above, within the 300-foot anchoring limit in Smokehouse Bay near The Esplanade on Jan. 18. He was cited by a Marco Island Police Department marine officer. A judge set a March 23 trial date at 1:30 p.m. in Collier County Court.
