Casey Ladurini, 11, crossed over from cub scout pack 441, Port Orange, Fla., into Daytona Beach Troop 65 under the leadership of Mr. Bob Preis on March 29, 2007,in an outside ceremony at Sugar Mill Gardens. During the crossing over ceremony Casey and two other scouts were awarded Cub Scouts highest award, the Arrow of Light. Casey was surprised when his Godfather, Ray Strauss from Sunrise, Fla., and his older brother Eagle Scout Aaron Ladurini greeted him as he crossed over the bridge from cub scouts to boy scouts. Casey earned all twenty activity badges as a WEBELOS I and II. He began his scouting career as a First grade tiger cub in Pack 441. Casey began his Boy Scout career by attending the Halifax District's spring camporee during the April 21-22 weekend. He completed some of the requirements for the Citizen of the World merit badge. One of the more difficult to earn merit badges required for Eagle Scout. Casey is the brother of Aaron and Christina Ladurini. He is the son of Tammy Strauss, Ormond Beach, Fla., and Marco Island Firefighter Ray Ladurini. He is the grandson of former Marco Islanders Betty and Ron Strauss. Casey's paternal grandmother, Helen Ladurini, is a part-time Naples visitor and resident of Minneapolis, Minn.
