Former university president William Merwin talks with interim president Dick Pegnetter at a luncheon Wednesday held in Merwin's honor by the Florida Gulf Coast University Foundation at the Embassy Suites in Estero. Former colleagues spoke about Merwin's contribution to FGCU. 'To say he was the right person at the right time (to be president) is a gross understatement,' said interim president Dick Pegnetter. This was the first public event with Merwin and the university since he was forced to resign following an affair with a staff member.
