Jill Basden has experienced plenty of Half Marathons over the last 10 years, just never from inside the ropes. Every other year, she's been in front of Trinity-By-the-Cove Episcopal Church on Galleon Drive, where her husband, Rev. Michael Basden, stands each year waiting to bless the passing runners with holy water. "It's been several years that he's blessed the race," Jill, 46, said before heading to the starting line, "but it's his first year to bless me." Roughly 1,400 runners who lined up on Fifth Avenue South to compete in the Naples Daily News Half Marathon on Sunday, January 20, 2008.
