On Wednesday, a severe thunderstorm passed over Collier County causing sporadic power outages and stranding a number of motorists. No major accidents were reported and no fires were caused by lightning strikes. Central Avenue was one of the most flooded streets, with one driver being assisted by a passer-by as he stopped and leaned out of his window. Storms are expected to continue throughout the rest of the week.
