Marco Island firefighter/paramedic Munier Gattas makes his way to the targeted condo unit in Gulfview Condominiums which was on fire for the purpose of a high-rise training exercise this week. Gattas, nicknamed Chile Dog because of his Chilean nationality, helped drag about 30 pounds of lightweight house up several flights of stairs. High-rise training was one of several training exercises by Marco Island Fire Rescue, Isle of Capri Fire Department and Collier EMS this month. Battalion Chief Scott Schultz said he hopes to continue more training with his department for job-specific fitness and safety.
