Hunter DiMaria, 7, was born with a congenital heart defect. According to her father, Naples Fire Battalion Chief Pete DiMaria and mother, Ashley, background, Hunter's heart is backwards, and instead of having four chambers like a normal heart, she only has one. Her mom and dad thought that doctors might be able to correct the problem through surgeries - she's already had two open heart surgeries, the first when she was six days old - but have recently learned that she needs a heart transplant. Because of her disorder, Hunter is physically limited. She's easily out of breath, and can't partake in gym class at Lake Park Elementary School. When she rides her bike, her mom and dad have to tie a rope to the bike so they can tow her. The Naples police and fire unions are holding a benefit for Hunter on Saturday at the Under The Shady Palm Pub at 210 U.S. 41 N.Lexey Swall-Bobay/Staff
