A fifth-grade class watches as their teacher plants a Tabebuia tree, also known as Trumpet trees, behind the school during Plant Conservation Day on May 18, 2009. The Tabebuia tree, which has more than 100 species, is the national tree of Brazil, Paraguay and Venezuela. Each fourth grade class, and some fifth grade classes planted either a yellow or purple Tabebuia tree in the median grass of the back parking lot. Greg Kahn/Staff
