Marco Island fourth-grader Andrew Sprankle is on top of the world, or at least a fire truck, Tuesday, as he suits up in his own properly-sized fire gear as the 2009 Junior Fire Fighter of the Year. Sprankle won an essay contest at Tommie Barfield Elementary School writing about what makes his home fire safe. His award included a day of firefighting adventures with the Marco Island Fire Rescue Department.
