Resident Robert Glaub suggests a big cut to city spending would be to get rid of the Marco Island Police Department and accept service from the Collier County Sheriff's Office exclusively. Glaub drew laughter after saying the proposal didn't have much of a chance, particularly if City Manager Steve Thompson were to be assigned to report to Council on the idea after putting Police Chief Thom Carr in charge of investigating it.
