Dean Lindquist and other members of the Roughnecks Motorcycle Club of Southwest Florida, clear away weeds on the property of an anonymous donor who offered the land as a temporary home for 17 malnourished horses rescued in the Golden Gate Estates. Roughnecks is a group of retired law enforcement, veterans and public safety personnel who have volunteered their time to help clean up the property where the horses are being kept. Pure Thoughts, a horse rescue foundation is handling private adoption requests for the horses. The agency will screen, write contracts and perform follow-up interviews for those interesting in adopting the troubled horses. Lexey Swall/Staff
