Temple Shalom's new invested cantor, Donna Azu, has a unique role in that as a student of both theology and music she can conduct certain services or parts of the services within the synagogue's community. Investiture for a cantor in the reformed Jewish faith gives the cantor an ability to perform functions such as leading worship services, conducting weddings, funerals, Bar Mitzvahs and Bat Mitzvahs.
