Sixty volunteers, 25 staff members and three inmates from the Collier County jail work Monday to move into the new building for the Humane Society Naples on Airport-Pulling Road. The new building, which features new kennels for dogs, community room and intake rooms, will open for business at 11 a.m. Tuesday. A 'doggie parade' will take place as volunteers move the dogs from their kennels in the old building to the new building. The renovations to the Humane Society has been funded entirely through private donations. The second phase of renovation will last through May when a new area for cats will be completed.
