Jerricka Stewart, left, says goodbye to her Footsteps to the Future mentor, Andrea Perisho, after they ran errands picking up cleaning supplies for the house and buying clothes for Stewarts new job. The two have been paired through the foster girls mentoring program since May. Since then, Perisho says she has stepped into a role that's part mother, part grandmother and has helped Stewart get to and from job interviews as well as guided her through opening a bank account. Stewart turned 18 in June, aging her out of the foster system she has been in since she was about 5-years-old. Stewart moved in to a transitional living home in Fort Myers, provided by Footsteps to the Future, a foster girls mentoring program. In the home, Stewart and her roommate, Casey Browning, 23, are responsible for paying rent, creating a monthly budget for themselves and they have to sign a participation agreement - no boys, no alcohol, no drugs.
