A Naples fisherman is facing a boatload of charges after state wildlife officers say he hauled in a large illegal catch of red grouper. David J. Starrett, 48, was stopped Sunday by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission off Gordon Pass. Officers said they found 75 red grouper on Starrett's boat and determined that 68 of them were too small to keep. Starrett was charged with 68 counts of possession of undersized grouper and one count of possessing over the allowable limit, which is two. The charges are misdemeanors.
