At the EFW Seminole 8 in Seminole on Florida's west coast, an electrical contractor sued Entertainment Film Works of Florida five months after the theater opened its doors in August 2001. Dart Electronics sought $9,730.11 plus interest for unpaid fire alarm and security system work. Entertainment Film Works didn't respond to the lawsuit, which led to a $10,290.86 judgment. Dart Electronics wanted James Duffy held in contempt of court, but the case was dismissed after the theater closed in September 2002.
