Jeffery Moretz, 54, appears in court Monday for the first time since being charged with second-degree murder for allegedly shooting his estranged wife, Christine Moretz, in the head at Physicians Regional Hospital in North Naples on July 5. According to an affidavit, Jeffery Moretz started a brief argument with his estranged wife, Christine Moretz, before fatally shooting her and turning the gun on himself. Moretz was wheeled in to the courtroom in a wheelchair and had a tracheotomy. According to his lawyer, Lee Hollander, his jaw is wired shut. Lexey Swall/Staff
