Lexey Swall/Staff Sparky, an 8-year-old Dachshund, was rescued by Naples residents Jim and Linda Glasson. They adopted Sparky from a veterinarian in Miami after the owners took him to the vet to be euthanized because he was badly burned on 30-40 percent of his body. Sparky has healed and adjusted to his new home and even has his own blog on Facebook. People from all over the world have sent Sparky gifts and Christmas cards.
