Louise Bufalieri married in 1946 in a dress she didn't expect to wear. After picking out and putting down a deposit on a dress from a wedding gown company in New York, a few months later she found out the company had closed. Bufalieri lost both her dress and her deposit. Her sister came to her rescue and made her gown and veil. Years later, having no daughter to pass down her dress to, Bufalieri's friend made a miniature version of the gown to pass down to her children.
