Kim Lonergan, the principal of Golden Terrace Elementary (GTE), gets comfortable on the roof of the school Tuesday night in Golden Gate. In September 2010, Lonergan challenged the students at GTE to read a million minutes collectively - promising that she would sleep for a night on the roof of the school if they did. 'Listen, I'm from New York, I'm used to having parties on a roof,' said Lonergan. 'I'm only worried about animals, I don't want to see any critters.' Lonergan planned to spend the evening reading a Shell Silverstein book, something she thought the students would like. Lexey Swall/Staff
