Members of a smalltooth sawfish capture team measure a clasper, used in reproduction, of a male smalltooth sawfish caught Saturday, Oct. 29, in Chokoloskee Bay. Florida State University and NOAA are trying to get a handle on the size of the sawfish population in Everglades National Park and are studying the endangered species' habits. Little is known about the elusive creatures that are related to sharks and rays.
