Jason Easterly/Special to the Daily News Special timers were used to answer questions during the MATHCOUNTS Competition held at Florida Gulf Coast University on Saturday. MATHCOUNTS is a nationwide math enrichment, coaching and competition program. Students from 18 Charlotte, Collier and Lee County middle schools participated in the event. The competition included written and oral rounds, as well as individual and team components.
