A new treatment for large and wide-necked aneurysms, called Pipeline embolization, is available at Physicians Regional Medical Center-Pine Ridge. The catheter-based procedure involves a flexible braided mesh tube which is placed across the aneurysm neck to divert blood away from the aneurysm, which eventually shrinks.
