Cynthia Gilbert clings to the leg of Wiley Woo saying, "See, I can be a kid that climbs all over them and they don't respond, they are so calm," to friend Kimberly Cavalier Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012 at M&H Stables in Naples, Fla. Gilbert recently started up Horse Rescue of Southern Florida in July. Her first two horses came on a rare donation of retired racing horses, 5 and 7 years-old, that had career-ending injuries. "I had a friend sick with breast cancer who asked me to help take care of her horse," Gilbert said. "People kept saying, 'You're really good them.' Then it got me thinking maybe it would be nice to have a horse. Then all of a sudden it was, why not start a horse rescue."
