Orsie Anthony Sr. holds up a high school graduation photo of himself from 1960 Friday, Oct. 12, 2012 at his Naples home. Anthony Sr., was the first black firefighter in Naples and a member of the Carver High School reunion committee. At age 20, he was part of Carver High School's first graduating class of 8 people. Naples was segregated then, blacks going to one school, whites to another. He is the brother of Willie Anthony, a longtime community leader in Naples. They grew up in McDonaldâ’s Quarters off Central Avenue. His other brother, Charlie Anthony, was the first Naples person to die in the Vietnam War. River Park is named after Charlie.
