Artist Betty Newman’s charity of choice was the Art League of Marco Island, which she recognizes as one of the community’s greatest cultural resources for both children and adults. The other seven Dancing With the Starz and their charities: Maria Elena Pujol, Youth Haven Inc.; Darlene Schulze, H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute; Craig Woodward, Marco Island Historical Society. The Starz were given a chance to thank their many supporters Wednesday night, and everyone was treated to several dance performances by Modern Steps Dance Studio professional dancers as a precursor to Saturday’s grand finale.
