The rescue of Loren Dederick

Cpl. Jack Hazel, a member of the Collier County Sheriff’s Office agriculture bureau, explains where he found Loren Dederick, 88, on Wednesday morning around 9:30 a.m. Hazel was patrolling the North side of Vanderbilt Beach Road just east of Airport Pulling Road when he saw Dederick laying in the brush about 30 feet north of the road.
