Naples resident Susan Gardner drops money into a bucket being used to collect money for the family of slain Ft. Myers police Officer Andrew Widman at a car wash held at Wynn's Market on Wednesday, July 30, 2008. "I hope that with the support of Naples the children and wife won't have to worry for a while," said Gardner, adding that she didn't really need the wash. The event was organized by Wynn's Market employee Bill Homer, who came up with the idea after seeing support for the family from both the Naples and Ft. Myers communities. Several Wynn's Market employees joined in to help the car wash, which started at 9 a.m. and was expected to last until 2 p.m. "As long as we have a steady stream of cars we'll keep washing," said Christina Dinschel, daughter of the store manager. "Anything to help out the family." The money will be taken to 5/3 Bank and deposited into an account that has been set up in honor of the family of Officer Windman, said Homer.
