Why does the City figure that we need a walkway and a fishing pier on this bridge, when there are none on any of the other inland bridges on Marco? Who, other than tourists, would want to walk down from the Esplanade, and walk by the Lutheran Church and the back of Winn Dixie? To go to Veteran's Park, which is nothing but a large grass and asphalt field? Ridiculous and another blatant waste of our money!
It is not like we kneed a new bridge with fishing pier and a board walk. I think building a taller bridge that could accommodate taller and more expensive boats would raise the houses prices in some if not all of the neighbourhoods. I know for a fact we can not get are boat to are house it is 15 feet high, if the bridge was that higher we might consider building a dock and put in a boat lift and keeping are boat behind are house. This would improve the look in all the neighbourhoods behind the bridge, and this could bring new people to move in or even build new houses in the neighbourhood. I think for the city's money it is only worth it to build a taller (14 – 20 feet high) and possibly wide to accommodate larger boats and yachts.
love how the rendering is completely inaccurate in the first picture. No matter how you look at it, the Esplenade is on the wrong corner. Glad to see the city council got Stevie Wonder to render their drawings
