Olde Naples Building receives renovation

Chris Steinmann, Superintendent of Bradanna Construction, removes old drywall Thursday on the interior of the Olde Naples Building on the Southwest corner of Broad and Third Street South. Because the building has historical value, the rennovation requires peeling the interior back layer by layer for evaluation by an engineer, a time consuming process. Michel Fortier/Staff

The building - originally built in 1920 - is under going some renovations to, as attorney John Passidomo said, restore it to its old glory. The city granted the owners a selective interior demolition permit. This permit, unlike other demo permits, dictates what can and can't be done on the property since it has been deemed a historical landmark.
