A 55-foot sail boat named Victory sinks in a canal in the Caxambas area of Marco Island on Monday. The vessel was reportedly abandoned for nearly a decade before beginning to sink Sunday night, neighbors report.

The yacht, owned by Andrew Thomas Patterson remains behind a home owned by he and his wife, former City Councilwoman Jeannette Patterson of Caxambas Drive, as city, county and state officials say it's the owners' responsibility to remove it.
