The Ritz-Carlton; helping to shape Naples

In September 1985, just three months before the opening of the Ritz-Carlton, Naples, alligator trappers snag an early guest to the luxury resort on the property. Fast forward to 2010 and readers of Travel + Leisure vote The Beach Resort No. 1 in Florida and one of the best 25 hotels in the U.S. The resort also made Condé Nast Traveler's 2010 Gold List, ranking it among the finest hotels in the world.
